This study looks at how different doses of baclofen, given either as a pill or directly into the spinal fluid, affect muscle strength and stiffness in someone with a spinal cord injury. The researchers used both regular clinical tests and special nerve tests to measure these effects. The goal was to see if controlling stiffness with baclofen could be done without making the person weaker, and to check if the clinical and nerve tests gave similar results.
Include strength testing in the clinical assessment of spasticity.
Consider adding neurophysiologic assessments to clinical assessments for objectivity and sensitivity.
Tailor therapeutic interventions to optimize motor control by fine-tuning various components.
