This study aimed to establish globally relevant criteria for identifying Centers of Clinical Excellence (CoCE) in stroke recovery and rehabilitation. The intent is to guide service development, focus research, and promote global networks to improve stroke care standards worldwide. Criteria and indicators were developed collaboratively by international experts and consumer groups, focusing on optimal outcomes, research culture, and collaboration with stroke survivors.
The criteria and indicators can guide healthcare organizations in developing and refining their stroke rehabilitation services to achieve excellence.
The framework facilitates global networks and partnerships between centers to share expertise and improve stroke care standards worldwide.
The measurable indicators provide a tool for assessing and monitoring the quality of stroke rehabilitation services, promoting continuous improvement.
