This study explores the experiences of individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) and their partners regarding their sexual lives. It uses a qualitative research approach to understand the challenges and coping mechanisms they employ. The research involved in-depth interviews with both patients and their partners to gather detailed insights into how SCI affects their sexual relationships and overall well-being. The study identifies several themes related to the challenges and adjustments they face. The findings highlight that SCI significantly impacts sexual function and satisfaction, leading to various coping strategies and emotional challenges for both individuals with SCI and their partners. The study emphasizes the importance of addressing these issues in healthcare services.
Rehabilitation teams should address sexual health concerns and provide counseling to patients and partners.
