Low back pain (LBP) is a common illness that has potential sources, like intervertebral discs, facets and sacroiliac joints (SIJ). The study aimed to assess the repetitive rotational effect on the SIJ of left-hand drive taxi drivers. Repetitive contractions of left side back muscles while getting into and out of taxi increases endurance, blood flow and nutrient supply which were insufficient in the back muscles of the right side.
Implement ergonomic interventions in taxi design to reduce repetitive strain on the left side of the body.
Develop and promote targeted exercises for taxi drivers to strengthen back muscles and improve SIJ stability.
Raise awareness among taxi drivers about the risks of SIJ dysfunction and the importance of maintaining proper posture and movement habits.
