This study is a protocol for a scoping review, which is a type of research that maps the existing literature on a broad topic. In this case, the topic is skin self-care for people with spinal cord injury (SCI). The review aims to identify what evidence is available to support self-care, what barriers and facilitators exist, and how healthcare professionals and family members contribute to skin self-care for individuals with SCI. The results of this review will help to better understand the practical aspects of rehabilitation for people with SCI and how to build a stronger evidence base for this type of work.
The protocol will contribute to improvements in the planning and self-care of individuals with SCI.
It will enable the scientific community to present concrete steps capable of presenting strong evidence related to the subject it is intended to investigate.
The scoping review may contribute to the development of a self-care tool for patients with SCI.
