This study investigates whether using a robot-assisted treadmill with EMG biofeedback can help people with spinal cord injuries walk better and improve their heart and lung function. The intervention group received 30 min of RABWSTT with EMG biofeedback system over the vastus lateralis muscle to enhance active participation. The control group received passive lower limbs mobilization exercise.
EMG-biofeedback RABWSTT can improve walking ability in people with incomplete SCI.
RABWSTT can lead to better maximal oxygen consumption and stronger pulmonary muscles.
The treatment can help improve independence in daily activities for individuals with SCI.
