This study investigated if TENS can help reduce pain in patients with spinal cord injuries. TENS is a non-invasive method that uses electrical stimulation to relieve pain. The study involved two groups: one received TENS treatment, and the other received a sham treatment (placebo). Both groups received treatment three times a week for 12 weeks. The results showed that the group receiving TENS treatment experienced a significant reduction in pain compared to the sham treatment group, suggesting TENS is effective for pain relief in SCI patients.
TENS can be considered as an effective non-invasive method for managing pain in SCI patients.
Effective pain relief through TENS may improve the quality of life for individuals with SCI, allowing them to perform daily activities more easily.
By providing a non-pharmacological option for pain management, TENS could potentially reduce reliance on pain medications and associated healthcare costs.
