Chronic pain is a common problem for people with spinal cord injuries (SCI), and finding effective treatments is crucial. This paper looks at using interventional spine therapy to help manage this pain. The study presents several cases where epidural injections were used to identify the source of pain and provide relief to SCI patients experiencing neuropathic pain. These injections sometimes reduced spasticity, too. The findings suggest that interventional spine therapy can be a valuable tool for doctors treating chronic pain in SCI patients. It helps pinpoint the cause of the pain and can provide lasting relief.
Interventional spine therapy can serve as a diagnostic tool to identify the pain generator in SCI patients with chronic pain.
The interventions can provide effective pain relief for a substantial period, improving the quality of life for patients.
Interventional spine therapy could also be used to manage spasticity and autonomic dysreflexia in SCI patients.
