A spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma is a rare condition that can cause sudden spinal cord compression. This case report describes a young man who experienced this and was successfully treated without surgery. The patient, a 25-year-old male, presented with complete quadriplegia and sensory loss. After conservative management and rehabilitation, he achieved complete neural recovery. The authors suggest that conservative treatment can be a viable option for young patients presenting late with neurological improvement, guiding future management approaches.
Conservative management can be considered for young patients with spontaneous cervical epidural hematoma who show neurological improvement.
MRI is crucial for diagnosis and monitoring resolution of hematoma.
Neurological status at presentation should guide treatment decisions.
