This study evaluates a web-based self-management program called SCI & U for Canadians with spinal cord injury (SCI). The program provides trained peer health coaches to guide participants through health topics. The study used a mixed-methods approach, gathering both quantitative data (surveys) and qualitative data (interviews) to assess the program's feasibility and potential impact. The results showed that the web-based program is feasible and acceptable for individuals with SCI, potentially improving self-efficacy, mood, resilience, and secondary complications.
Web-based programs can provide access to self-management support for individuals with SCI, especially those in rural or remote communities.
The program may enhance self-efficacy and resilience, leading to improved health outcomes and quality of life for individuals with SCI.
Trained peer health coaches can provide tailored support and guidance to individuals with SCI, addressing their specific health needs and goals.
